Subject of Insurance
According to the present conditions, “DONARIS Vienna Insurance Group” S.A. insures cargo (goods) in which the Insured has an interest and which are exposed to risks during transportation, including related expenses, as specified in the insurance contract. The insurance can cover cargo transported by road, rail, sea, river, or air.
Insured Risks
The insurance covers damages that occur during cargo transport, including destruction or deterioration of goods caused by:
- fire or explosion;
- flooding, overturning, grounding of the vessel.
- shipwreck or collision of transport means, impact with mobile or immobile objects, vessel damage from ice.
- falling of aircraft or parts thereof.
- damage to bridges, tunnels, transport infrastructure, warehouses, and buildings, including dam or pipeline ruptures.
- water entering the vessel and soaking cargo stored in the hold or in a sealed container on deck.
- loading, unloading, storing of cargo, and refueling the transport vehicle.
- jettisoning cargo in case of general average and salvage or wetting of cargo during fire extinguishing.
- ground collapse, landslides, soil subsidence, snow avalanches, or mudflows.
- lightning strikes, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods, tsunamis, hurricanes, torrential rain, and other natural disasters.
- loss of transport vehicles without trace;
- temperature regime violations during the transport or storage of the cargo.
The insurance contract can be concluded based on one of the following options:
- 1. All-risk coverage – provides compensation for total or partial material damage, including salvage and general average costs, except for exclusions stated in the policy.
- Particular average coverage – includes damage caused by fire, natural disasters, collisions, total loss of ship or aircraft, and loading/unloading accidents. Also covers salvage and loss minimization expenses.
- Excluding liability for damage outside accidents – covers damage from events like fire, natural disasters, collisions, or major accidents, but excludes minor damage unrelated to such events.
