Insurance Company "DONARIS VIENNA INSURANCE GROUP" SA, headquartered in the Republic of Moldova, Chișinău, bd. Moscova 15/7, IDNO 1002600020908 (hereinafter referred to as Donaris VIG or the Operator), registered in the register of personal data operators with numbers 0000394 – 001, 0000394 – 002, 0000394 – 003, maintained by the National Center for Personal Data Protection, processes its clients’ personal data in accordance with the relevant legal provisions for the purpose of providing insurance services.

The purpose of this notice is to reinforce our clients' trust in the fact that Donaris VIG has established high and up-to-date standards regarding the protection of its clients' privacy. As one of the largest insurance companies in the Republic of Moldova, we handle significant volumes of personal data. Therefore, as an operator, we aim to ensure data security to protect your privacy.

Collection of Personal Data

Personal data is collected when provided directly by clients at the company’s offices or through intermediaries, via email, through the call center, and by post.

Categories of Personal Data

The personal data that Donaris VIG may process while providing insurance services include:

  • First name, last name, patronymic of clients and family members (if applicable)
  • Gender
  • Date and place of birth
  • Signature
  • Data from civil status documents
  • Data from the vehicle registration certificate
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Biometric or anthropometric data
  • Profession, workplace, job title
  • Banking details
  • Nationality
  • Data from the driver's license
  • Administrative sanctions
  • Address (domicile/residence)
  • Personal identification number
  • Data regarding owned assets
  • Data from medical certificates

Donaris VIG collects, uses, and processes your personal data for the following purposes:

a) Providing insurance and reinsurance services
b) Calculating insurance premiums and assessing insured risks
c) Granting benefits to loyal clients and continuously improving service and product quality
d) Internal or cross-border reporting, as applicable
e) Conducting statistical/actuarial analyses
f) Resolving complaints and customer requests
g) Handling potential legal disputes brought before courts
h) Identifying clients, screening individuals subject to international sanctions, and detecting and preventing potential fraud
i) Debt recovery and recourse actions

Legal Grounds for Processing Personal Data

The legal grounds for processing personal data may be:

a) The client's explicit consent, including for obtaining offers and concluding the insurance contract/policy
b) Compliance with Donaris VIG’s legal obligations (e.g., in mandatory civil liability auto insurance or anti-money laundering measures, such as “know your customer” rules)
c) Conducting preliminary assessments and checks at the client's request before concluding the insurance contract (e.g., accessing the RCA Data platform, screening individuals subject to international sanctions, etc.)

Consequences of Refusal to Provide or Withdrawal of Personal Data

We require the listed personal data to fulfill our legal obligations as an insurer and to provide contractual services. If you do not provide the requested personal data or withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide the requested services in whole or in part.

Data Storage

Donaris VIG, as a personal data operator, has implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect clients’ data against accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss, modification, unauthorized access, or disclosure.

The personal data provided to the Operator will be processed for at least the duration of the insurance contract's validity and thereafter, for the period necessary to fulfill contractual obligations by either party. The data will be stored as long as required for the above-mentioned purposes or for the duration specified by relevant legal provisions.
